I took a chance and purchased this item to stream music from my computer to my home stereo I wanted to use the Zune Marketplace and Internet Radio as a way to listen to music Since I live in an apartment wireless internet is my only option
As soon as I plugged in the device to my computer and my stereo the receivers connected to each other and I was able to stream music It couldn t have been easier I immediately started listening to music from my PC and the sound quality was just fine
However the devices disabled my wireless connection If I had the device plugged into one of the USB ports in the back of my PC wireless was disabled immediately If I used on of the front USB ports the wireless would cut in and out The whole network for my PC and my wife s laptop was down It totally blocked the network neither Windows 7 nor XP could even see there was a network to connect to If I unplugged the device the wireless network would reestablish
I tried changing the channel on the device but I was unable to because this was not an option I played around a bit with changing the channel of my router but this had no effect Also support from Creative Labs site was pretty sparse It doesn t seem like it s supported or updated much at all
Ultimately I had to return it because it just didn t work for my needs If you have a totally wired network at your home and you don t use wireless devices around the XMod it might work for you but dropping out a wireless network is a pretty big negative in my book
