PROS Nice looking design With places for two side fans and with the 140mm top fan and the option of adding a back fan there is lots of cooling

The case is sturdy with almost no sharp edges and lots of room to install your stuff The mounts for both the hard drive and the DVD drive work well and provide solid retention

With two side fans with mounting for fans up to 140mm there is good airflow and cooling

CONS I wasn t thrilled with both the HD LED and ON LED being white Tradition in my opinion would have been best blue LED for the ON light and RED LED for the hard drive Also the viewing angle for these LEDs is narrow i e you have to be looking at the front from in front to see the light off angle is cut off

The front case fan is so filtered filter is fine foam that very little air passes thru Removing the foam helps airflow but still not much is getting thru Maybe a higher RPM fan would help here The one that comes with it is a 1200 RPM fan The perferrated cover sheet in front of the front fan could also stand larger holes here

The tool less clips for retaining add on cards are fragil Mine for the video card broke easily but you can install a screw in that situation so all ends well To be honest I was pressing hard on it to try and make it latch but not more pressure than I ve used on other computer cases with this type of fixture Examining the plastic part showed it to be weak a poor design

I ve concentrated on what I felt were weaknesses but I really do like the case and would buy it again It was well and acqurately made good paint job nice front bezel etc The layout for the internal parts is good easy to work with and one feature that I really appreciated was the cut out behind the processor for installing the CPU cooler where a back plate is used for support Other cases make you remove the MoBo if you are doing something that requires access to the bottom of the board

My conclusion is I like the case it s not perfect but there is no such thing as a perfect case

I am building a non gamer fast machine and ordered the Cooler Master Full HAF AMD case see review but after receiving the Gladiator have decided to use this case instead for many reasons I am using an AMD Phenom X4 chip not an AMD Phenom II X4 which is on the Full cases badge and this case is smaller and will go into my work space without moving anything around This case uses tooless design as does the larger case just not as fancy
The potential air flow is more than enough for all but the fastest gamer and water cooled applications Water cooled Never thought I would see that in a PC
The Power supply goes on the bottom for better cooling The case comes with one 5 25 to 3 5 drive converter slide so you don t have to buy that
I will probably add two extra 120mm fans to back and side to go with the standard 140mm top and 120mm front fans that should cool it off
The only big drawback for me was that the Gladiator has only two USB connectors in the front compared to four on the full HAF
Just a side note This mid tower case is the same size as my old full tower case of years gone by So if you think the new full tower cases are the same as the old ones you had better check the dimensions because things have changed
Go to the Cooler Master Web Site to get a much better idea of the units capabilities They have videos for a lot of there cases

This case was easy to setup no screws for the hard drives cards or rom drives The PSU being mounted on the bottom keeps it much cooler The case is well constructed I recommend a modular PSU for this case Make sure you have enough room above the top of the case for the fan to push out the hot air

I m extremely happy with the board There were two issues that I had not with the board but read this to avoid problems Initially I purchased two sets of OCZ3G2000LV6GK 6GB tri channel kits to populate 12GB on the board Each kit worked by itself just fine as 6GB but put in together I would see any random amount of memory from 4GB to 10GB but never 12GB Playing with timings did not yields any better results It looked like there were some potentially bad memory slots on the board and I had read reviews where other people had jumped to this conclusion However I went out and purchased more expensive Corsair tr3x6g1600c7g kits These worked perfectly out of the box at 1600 Mhz with no parameter tweaking necessary Needless to say the OCZs were RMA d
The second was a more problematic problem I installed Windows 7 x64 ultimate and had configured a Raid 10 array with 4 x Seagate 1 5TB drives Everything worked fine for about a week then suddenly my system locked up Upon reboot the Raid bios claimed I had a bad drive I tested the drive standalone in an external enclosure and it was fine so I reinserted the drive and marked it OK The rebuild took 22 Hrs Meanwhile I did some research and the problem that many people are also experiencing is with the Intel Matrix Raid drivers version 8 9 0 1023 Intel is aware people are having problems but continues to put the software out there and says they can t reproduce the issue I can assure Intel I had no trouble reproducing it Anyway I did what others have done back level my Matrix Raid drivers to 8 8 0 1099 Intel claims this version does not support Windows 7 but it seems to work better than the version they say does Anyway six weeks have now gone by without any other problems

With 12GB memory I only need a minimal page file despite the heavy duty development work that I am doing I m sometimes getting up to 8GB commit charge but plenty to spare

I used a Corsair water cool kit which I can recommend over the stock fan I put it in a case with 140mm fans and my system is very quiet I hardly hear any noise from the four Seagate drives either

This motherboard is pretty awesome Its very easy to do overclocking nice temperature gauge very nice looking because its blacked out and has some gray as well The only problem I have with the board is that it has a very slow boot up due to the numerous splash screens There is not any quick boot option so it is very annoying to restart the computer or even to start it up Over all this unit is very clean and very nice

I recently looked at the price and I am glad I got this early As part of a bundle I got this board for 249
If you want to enable eSATA as a hot plugin make sure you change your BIOS settings before you install your OS as it will cause BSOD if you try changing it after you OS is installed

Wish I d read the reviews here before I bought the card The 2 reviewers were absolutely correct the driver that came in the CD was useless My computer recognized the CD as something in a foreign language When I tried to install the software I got a warning that this software had not been tested and could cause my computer to become unstable Did I heed that warning Nooooo I went ahead and installed it The computer went wonky I downloaded a driver from ATI website and the whole computer crashed I had to re install Windows before I could use the computer again The next day the computer simply refused to even show anything on screen I had to fish out my old graphics card that I had gleefully tossed into the trash can when the new card arrived

In a nutshell don t waste a dime on this piece of junk Find something else

I have recently purchased this motherboard in order to build a new computer for one of my grandchildren I liked the detailed manual and layout of the board It was easy to find the proper connections and the spacing was adequite So far the unit is working as specified without any problems My grandson is excited and uses it every day It s not a gamers board but it is fast The materials used in the construction seem to be top notch without any widow solder spots

The only downside is not having an on board video chip But the price for the board is very reasonable so adding the additional price for a fair video card wasn t that hard to bear

Amazon is great to deal with and they stand by their products even if it is only distributed through them I trust them for any purchase I make

I have even recommended them and the board to several of my senior citizen friends who like to assemble computers

I wanted a large case with great air flow I got it The fans are quiet enough I have 8 hard drives 1 BDR 1 DVDR overclocked i5 with water cooling and everything runs smooth as glass No issues with heat I had them before in a smaller constricted case Fits the new long ati card fine On top of the case are easily accessible ports eSata USB audio and a tray for the usb thumb drives The only thing I can find that I would change would be the blue lights on the fans They can be bright but I got used to them

I am very pleased with this case and all of it s attributes It was very intelligently designed for easy use and build But keep in mind it is very large and might not fit in your computer desk Also the power supply mount is at the bottom of the case and you might need some power extension cables

I finally talked myself into investing in a nice computer case a few months ago so when it came time to buy there was no question as to which case I wanted I had to have the Cooler Master Cosmos Since I saw it in Maximum PC about two years ago I ve needed this case It has everything anyone could want in a case There are fans all over secure HD storage tool less spacious fancy looking The case is built with great quality and it really shows in all the components Everything I could ever want would fit in this thing My only complaint is that when I tried to route the power and SATA cables to my HDD s they were sticking out too much to fit the panel back on I had to do some cramming and cussing before it would fit exactly how I wanted No problems since then The case seems quiet with the dampening on the panels All in all a grand slam of a case

I was impressed with this case when I first took it out of the box It s huge It looks really classy to me It s spacious and easy to work in But the stock cooling fans don t move enough air My motherboard temps were 20 degrees above ambient So I replaced all of the fans Now it runs cool but the whole case buzzes and rattles I sat a jar of change on top of it and the buzzing stopped It needs some sort of damping material I still like the design and features of the case though

I like this case but it has several problems For one it is not silent but that s not coolermaster s fault In general no matter what a case is only as silent as the components within it Even with the sound proof padding and everything there is ALOT of open ventilation in this case and you will hear noise if ANY of your components inside are noisy I put in an old video card with a noisy fan Diamond ATI HD 4670 and closed up the case just to test how much noise this case shielded and you could hear the thing two rooms away still

I put together a pretty nice PC and after I list all the parts I ll tell you what was good and what kind of stunk about this case

Things That Stunk

As mentioned the hard drives are too close to each other This is not a problem if you only have 4 drives or less Any more than 4 drives and you better put in that extra fan If your hard drives get hot better water cool your system or choose another case With 4 drives you can space the hard drives out so they aren t so close to each other So far with 6 green drives that don t generate a ton of heat I have had no problems just using the extra fan above the hard drive bay Make sure that the extra fan is blowing air UP away from the hard drives since the cooling in this case works by intaking air from the bottom of the case and exhausting it out the back and top of the case

Another problem regarding spacing of the hard drives is that the distance between the SATA power connectors that came with the power supply did not fit well For example there were 3 SATA power connectors on each SATA power cable that came with my power supply but the spacing between the connectors did not match the spacing between the hard drives You can connect 2 hard drives per cable instead but then you need to run 3 SATA power cables to power 6 hard drives and let me tell you it is impossible the way the hard drives bays are spaced I had to give up using SATA power cables and use the old IDE connectors with an SATA adapter at the end to connect them all

There is also poor spacing between the hard drive connectors and the back of the case If you are using SATA power cables make sure you don t leave too much cable hanging out or else you might break your hard drive connectors when putting the cover on Remember there is extra foam padding on the covers that take up space so you really only have an inch or so of space between the back of your hard drives and the side of the case Let me tell you it wasn t fun putting this case together with 6 hard drives

Not silent I bought silent everything fans case power supply video card and right now this PC makes more noise than my older second PC that doesn t have any silent parts in it at all It s not loud and the noise level is perfectly fine but it s definitely not silent Silence really is overrated

This case is not for wimps If this case is going on top of a desk better start lifting weights because this case is HEAVY

The manual is useless as some others also mentioned I had to go to Coolermaster s forums and read through many posts to put this thing together exactly the way I wanted There s no directions or guide as to how to insert the extra HD fan notice there is an extra black fan housing inside the case screw in your 120 mm fan into that housing making sure air is going to blow the right way remove the hidden 3 5 inch drive bay and clip the fan housing into the slots that are above the hard drive bays

Overall Impression

If you have less than four drives and have all silent components this case is great However if you have more than four drives and/or one or more noisy components you will be disappointed

Don t forget if your are upgrading and adding to a system with slower RAM I forgot the customary issue at first
This SIMM was faster than the other memory on board and when placed in the slot 1 2nd slot system would not boot Easy fix I moved it to slot 0 1st slot and moved the original 1GB slower speed to slot 1 the system booted fine

The HDD in my computer was a little more than 4 years old and working with no problems I decided to replace it with something newer the old drive had a 3 year warrantee and gets used a lot My biggest concern was with migrating dozens of programs to the new drive After checking variious web sites I decided to go with Seagate because of the DiscWizzard utility I was able to mirror my old drive in about 4 hours without any interruption Then it took about 25 mins to pop the old one out and put the new Seagate in Everything worked flawlessly The Seagate is noticeably faster and much quieter than the old drive It s been running for a week with no problems at all

I have only been using the 1 5 Tb harddrive for less than 2 weeks and no problems I had an unrelated computer problem which limited my time using my new seagate hard dirve I also like the fact that it has a FIVE year warranty which was one of the selling points I have read reviews about hdd s being damaged during shipping and that it can take weeks for the HDD to fail so have to wait and see i would recommend this product if you do get a damaged drive thats where the 5 year warranty comes in

I purchased the 2 TB version of this device I wanted to use it as a backup device in my home office Before this I used multiple external USB drives Installation went fine The device has many config settings so that you can tweak it to your liking It seems to work well with good speed and I have had no problems in the past two months of using it I have it connected via a Gigabit switch on my network The problem with it is the noise The fans are loud to the point of distraction The Ready NAS noise level is greater than all the other things I have running combined two towers switch modem

Luckily as I stated earlier the NAS is very configurable One of those settings is to have it come on and turn off automatically I set the Ready NAS to come on every night at 0100 and shut off at 0400 I then set my back up software to do its thing during that time period For back up software I did not use anything that came with the Netgear so I cant comment on it I can however highly recommend the Back up software I have been using for years which is SyncBack SE by 2brightsparks It works perfectly with the NAS as it has with all things SyncBack SE alows me to schedule a system wide back up even of open programs at a specified time via Windows Task Scheduler So everything happens while I am asleep and I dont have to hear the fans

If I need to get something off the NAS in the day I can just manually turn it on If I wanted to use the NAS 24 7 I would just make sure it was in a server room or anywhere else except where I was working via a cat5e network drop

I just purchase the second today The first one was over a year and it run ever since after I config it only reboot it twice after firmware upgrade But now it running out of space so I m purchase another one to expand the space

I run RAID 5 on 4 drives of 1TB With these services on UPnP iTune mySQL PHP SSH FTP CIFS NFS AFP HTTP and RSYNC

It s plug into my gigabit switch then to my Dual Channel Wireless N router Serving to my 4 Macbook Pro 3 PC s Win28 server and 1 linux box

To max out it s performance I upgrade to 1GB Crucial CT12864X335 memory and plug it into APC Back UPS ES 8 Outlet 550VA for larger cache write on disks I wanted the ReadyNAS Pro but the cost is too much so two of NV is fine for me

This new second one I m going to put in 4x2TB and hope it will last me long times But I won t be using RAID5 since I only need it for media so RAID1 is fine and only two services will be on which is UPnP and iTunes I will use the first one for Web and database

Suggestion The device itself is 5 years warranty so I m thinking when it reach to 5 years I m going to call in to replace new fan and power supply At the moment it still run quiet like was new If you going to need a NAS this is the one you looking for It s won t be easy when you first set it up but will be there to resolve your issue I have D Link Westen Digital and buffalo before They all die after a year but thanks god the drive still good and I got to use them on this new diskless NV system

It s is fast if you have them wire to gigabit switch/router but wireless is depend on your wireless N config

I will buy 3rd one when my 2nd fill up

I have been using the ReadyNAS NV for more than 18 months In all that time I have had a problem exactly once when it stopped responding and had to be powered off and rebooted Aside from that one time in over a year and a half I ve rebooted the device only when upgrading or installing software It simply runs 24 hours a day and I never have to fiddle with it at all

I wanted a NAS for two primary reasons One to provide networked backup storage for several PCs and two to provide streaming audio to multiple PCs and Logitech Squeezebox receivers The NV does both jobs beautifully I bought the RND4250 model from Amazon with two Western Digital 500GB drives pre installed After a couple of days testing out the NAS setting up appropriate accounts and backups from the various PCs in the house I added a pair of Seagate 500GB drives that I already had Running the Netgear proprietary X RAID configuration I was able to hot install the additional drives one at a time and the NAS re synchronized and automatically expanded to include the additional space without a problem as advertised

I run daily backups from three PCs to the ReadyNAS and the only time they ve failed was when my router was on the blink so they couldn t talk to the NAS Not only have the backups saved us a few times I can also access my data from anywhere via FTP WebDAV HTTP or Netgear s proprietary ReadyNAS Remote software This has been very handy for me and my wife since it allows us to get to files we were working on at home and forgot to put onto a flash drive to carry to the office we just log in to the home NAS and grab what we need

I have ripped my entire CD collection to FLAC files some 800 discs along with a fair number of MP3s acquired from other sources and the NAS cabled to a wireless router streams audio to multiple devices simultaneously without any trouble I ve had music on in as many as six different rooms and I m sure it could handle more using the Squeezebox Server software which comes pre installed and is upgraded periodically from the Logitech Squeezebox support site I can also access my photos wirelessly via a network attached TiVo box and display them on my TV using the installed DLNA service The NV also comes with a iTunes and Home Media streaming services installed but I haven t had any need to use them yet Though I haven t started using the device to stream video it should handle that as well

Any RAID box provides redundancy of course but X RAID is a nice enhancement over the standard RAID 5 in that it s easily expanded Currently I m only using half the capacity I have installed but when it starts to get full I can replace the 500GB drives one at a time with larger capacity drives without having to reconfigure the NAS or restore the data it s hot expandable

I can t think of another device I ve ever purchased that I would praise as highly as the NV To repeat myself it simply works superbly day after day It was easy to configure and it requires virtually no attention from me unless I decide to upgrade the software This is a terrific little home NAS

I replaced my Asus P5Q with Intel s DP45SG I swapped everything even the HD containing the old board set up and It worked the board picked up everything after installing the new drivers and the sound drivers it was fully functional
I have added a pair or Corsairs XMS3 4GB 2x2gb sticks ddr3 9 9 9 24 Nvidia Geforce GTX 260 I have no problems all works fine just my hard drives are crammed by the video card being so bulky
Overall it was easy to set up i just hope Intel can come up with a better way of clamping those heat sinks to the CPU i tell you i thought i broke it at one point

Just as the title says this card is underrated and excellent Once I had the right drivers and had it configured correctly the sound quality just blew me away

I had been using onboard audio with a 5 1 PC speaker system and thought Yay Sounds great I bought this because I wanted to connect my HDTV s audio out into the card to have surround sound for my shows

I was unprepared for the amazing difference in power and sound quality For a moment I thought I was going to bother my neighbors at one point It s that loud that powerful

Now it s not all wine and roses however Installation was a terrible terrible mess I have Windows 7 32 bit and this card was made with XP and Vista in mind After reading the reviews here and seeing that the chipset manufacturer had the correct drivers my problems were solved and the window shaking commenced Thank you folks for posting the info

The instructions or lack thereof leave a lot to be desired and trying to figure this thing out on your own is something right up Indiana Jones alley You re better served just trying things out on your own rather than depending on the ridiculous waste of paper they call instructions

The S/PDIF Coax digital in and out puts are not 4 6 or 8 channel they are merely 2 channel and it s misleading the surround fields are handled by using PC speakers in the multicolored minijacks on the back of the card in analog

The analog line in is stereo but that s it You can t get surround sound out of this input Although a faint fauz surround tries to make it sound like it s something it s not

On the flipside the card does produce wondrous sound takes a load off of the CPU and RAM which is a noticeable change includes the wonderful freeware Audacity and even has WinDVD on the disc

The card itself is well made and handles it s job nicely For that I give it a solid 5 stars and recommend it I will not blame an inanimate object for shortcomings that are beyond it s control

Diamond is solely to blame for that

No mention of what you re getting with the digital portion no instructions terrible installation problems no customer support for Windows 7 I mean even the no name chipset manufacturer stepped up and did the deed Argh it s simply frustrating

Don t expect miracles don t expect perfection I mean it s a 30 00 sound card c mon but do expect an awe inspiring experience once everything s set right

For the price paid it s an excellent upgrade and I d do it again in a second

I highly recommend this card and for the price Geez you can t get better than this

This is the gold standard power supply there are nicer more expensive power supplies but this will suit about any application and deliver powerful quiet cooling I ve removed and remounted this thing about ten times and it s still going strong The 3 speed switch isn t detachable and you ll have to be creative if you want to use it outside your case but if you need variable speed I d look into a fan controller anyways Not a con just something you might want to know Mine hasn t been cleaned since I bought it over a year ago and has been on high speed nearly 24/7 and it is still as quiet as the day I bought it I will probably be buying more of these in the future

This is a very good graphics card at least for the average user a mix of games and home productivity tools It really improves the performance of the video noticeable mainly on games Very easy installation I bought one for my Win XP and one for my Windows 7 both worked flawless The fan is not so bulky so there is no problem with the space between slots And the price is good So in general it is recommended I don t know about more professional applications but for COD4 COD5 and similar graphic applications/games it is very good
Product packaging was also very good I packed both cards with my luggage to go home from Florida and they had no problems

Installation was a breeze I just popped in the card and Windows 7 recognized everything and took care of it all

The card is not top of the line but it handles most games fine I was able to play counter strike source at the maximum settings and world of warcraft at above average settings with no lag issues In regards to the issue many users are reporting with the fan I have had no issues yet I have left the computer on since I installed it months ago and their have been problems

The only downside I would point out with this card is that their is no HDMI port I would have liked to have seen this option included as their are other cards in this price range that have that feature Otherwise I am very happy with my purchase and would recommend this card to anyone who is not looking for bleeding edge technology

I purchased an HP Elite 7000 I7 W7 for a pretty fair price I couldn t have purchased the parts cheaper for a self build The only problem was the micro case was WAY too small to add anything but one hdd I managed to get 4 hdd s mounted but it was way too tight Not only that the HP case was SO flimsy and light that the computer was extremely loud especially with hdd operations

So I got to thinking about replacing the case When I saw the price for this case along with the stellar reviews it seemed like a no brainer I am not dissapointed at all My case was shipped from via Fedex Even with free shipping it showed up in 2 days

The case has ample supply for most people s needs I have 5 hdd s and an optical currently mounted with room for 1 more 3 1/2 an 3 more 5 1/4 drives

I moved the included fan to the front of the case And I moved the fan from the HP to the back of the case I added a nice Corsair 650w power supply also from Amazon Plus I added a controller card for eSATA SATA and PATA drives And of course a better video card So for a measly I have a normal looking quiet computer with all the room I need when I open the case I am SO glad I opted to do this

I have several computers in my house one is in a cool master cm 690 series which I love and another in a cheap no name case I got for 30 dollars I bought this case because it is cheap it s from cool master and it looks nice It wasn t quite what I expected Here are my pros and cons

The mounting setup for PCI AGP devices uses SCREWS one per device which means your hardware is actually mounted not merely staying in place with a cover Makes it easy to use low rear mounted fans for cooling your PCI devices

Other interesting things include

The rear panel is recessed such that when devices are plugged into the back of the PC the cables will not extend backward excessively
There s plenty of room to expand
The side fan is nowhere near the processor and could be a problem depending on how much heat your processor generates
I haven t noticed any sharp edges on the inside

This tower is a sleeper it looks relatively simple but packs quite a punch It s gonna look great sitting on her desk too especially with a couple of blue LED fans

Despite middling reviews for this product on the Apple Store site I bought one here at half the price and it s worked perfectly I use this to connect my 2007 MacBook Pro to a new Apple 24 Cinema Display using both MacOS 10 6 and Microsoft Windows XP The display comes on immediately when plugged in and the signal is perfect The Blue LED is always on and annoying everybody needs to flash an LED in your face and the display reports itself as some random external device Bought it on via amazon for about 80 much less than the 150 other places Recommended

The image shows the convertor box itself with no cables In reality it is the intersection of several cables That said if you are using this convertor to mate a new apple display to a previous generation of apple laptop then you will get the benefit of using the power connection from the monitor on your MBP This means your MB/MBP power supply can remain in your bag and the convertor replaces it

So far 500gb works well However I still have a lot of concerns about Win7 stability

Put the motherboard in my new computer rig and worked great after an hour trying to get the board to post On day 5 I turned off the computer to go get a bowl of cereal and came back downstairs 10 minutes later tried turning it on fans ran on full power but no video no post and no error rings coming from the thing My first reaction was to test the parts and narrowed it to the motherboard

thank god for amazon cares for their customers because asus does not for sure

I actually don t own this board I own another ASUS board But this is relevant


ASUS tech support is ASTOUNDING The best I have ever used by far They answer quickly I ve never held for more then 3 5 minutes and when they do oh boy They hire people with real serious tech training They listen carefully and know problem causes by heart they re not using an automated troubleshooting system They suggest a solution and then wait on the line while you try it so you don t have to go to the trouble of calling back They don t retreat after 2 minutes to telling you that come component X is no good and you need a new one like so many tech lines I ve been using the same MOBO A Striker Extreme for three years and their support is to thank for that Additionally they can help the tech unsavvy and the tech savvy in different ways I m pretty in tuned and when the tech I spoke to realized this he told me to grab a multi meter and start poking around which prevented us from having to test hunches in indirect ways saving a lot of time

I m posting here and on a few other asus board reviews because I want people to know how awesome their support is and buy their stuff for that reason I want the top guys at ASUS to see that this business model spend more on keeping customers happy make more on repeat sales can succeed in a market where it is so rare We need to show corporations that we respond well to being treated well and maybe one day amazing tech support will be the standard

I m serious I will never own a main board other than an ASUS as long as they keep this level of customer respect

This little guy is pretty easy to use and install The software that comes with it isn t the greatest but it certainly does the job I would have liked software that had a little less fluff to it The 3D bits of it could have been left out Also if you have Win7 64 bit then beware that running the software puts your desktop into basic mode no transparency etc I was also having some trouble with the software somehow shutting down my WiFi connection though this could be particular to my usb harware set up not sure In any case it doesn t seem to be happening anymore for some mysterious reason

the usb tuner works alright for what I use it for which is occasional tv watching and some recording Install was pretty easy I plugged it in to a usb port inserted the cd and installed the drivers/software
I just use windows media center when using this and it seems to work pretty good Occasionally I will have to restart the computer but all in all its nothing that bad
I would have rated this 5 stars if not for the occasional restarting issue

This is a pretty average tuner The quality is what you would expect from a usb tuner lower The software that came with it really isn t wont jack but the good news is that it work just fine with Windows Media Center

I ordered 8 GB s of this DDR2 RAM for a 64bit multimedia PC I was building solely for home entertainment I have always been either a Corsair Fanboy or an OCZ Fanboy so when I saw this economy ram of Corsair brand for the price Amazon was running it for it made it a no brainer Timings are tight on the system I installed into and of course Corsair always has no hassle if problems pop up I have used alot of different RAM manufacturers over the years and I have received a bad stick of RAM from most Dead sticks do happen unfortunately from time to time however Corsair has always been fast polite and accurate any time I ve had to send back a dead stick in the past They are one of the only companies I would ever think about buying an economy stick of ram from

Okay so 4gbs of RAM for under a hundred dollars How can it be any good Well yes and it s great And to boot it s got faster processing power I don t have any problems with it and it has definitely sped up my system Remember too that if you run the 64 bit version of Windows7 or Vista or XP you ll get all 4gb s of RAM however if you re running the 32 bit you ll only get about 3gbs The rest goes to graphics which is actually a good thing in itself So check it out buy it and love it

This socket 1156 motherboard is the best value full featured board you can buy if you got a Core i7 860 I installed Core i7 860 along with 8GB of Corsair XMS3 RAM and had no problem booting up and installing windows7 64bit I installed the latest bios 806 by downloading the latest Asus updater utility from Asus website very simple to use from windows no DOS B S I set the CPU level up in the Bios to the highest setting and kept my ram running very close to its rated 1600mhz and everything else to auto also enabled the Intel Speed Step and Turbo mode and CPU/RAM voltage was still kept stock automatically by the BIOS Booted to Windows7 then went to ASUS website and downloaded ASUS EPU utility and ran the calibration Now when I am just browsing web and doing normal stuff my CPU runs at 1 4Ghz when I encode videos all four cores run at 3 63Ghz It has all the connections one could ask for USB 2 0 USB 3 0 SATA 3Gb/s SATA 6Gb/s I think it has more than 8 SATA ports an IDE port and if you happen to own one of those unsupported RAM then just hit and hold the MEM OK button on the board and it ll boot to the BIOS for you to manually set the RAM a very useful feature which I didn t need since my Corsair RAM was compatible even with older BIOS I am powering this board with a OCZ Mod X 700Watts power supply Corsair H50 Hydro CPU Liquid Cooler and Zotac 240GT 512MB DDR5 video card

I have had this motherboard for a couple of weeks and my overall impression is very positive I don t do much overclocking but the board has performed very well with all of my programs One area really stands out though I do use iTunes quite a bit and I ve never heard better sound than this board produces It s outstanding

I first purchased this RAM for my son s computer Compaq Presario Media Center SR2050NX I was upgrading his computer from 512MB of RAM which came installed with the system to 2GB

While installing them I did find they were what you might call a tight fit You may need to press very firmly for them to slide into place

However one they were installed the computer started up and it ran beautifully A few weeks after we upgraded my son s RAM I ordered these same sticks of RAM again and upgraded my fathers computer as well he has them same make and model and the instillation went just as smoothly

It has been several months now and both computers are working perfectly and there have been no errors or problems I highly recommend this RAM if it compatible with your computer and you looking to upgrade for a good price

For anyone having difficulty understanding what size/kind of RAM is compatible with your computer I would suggest trying the Crucial Memory Advisor Tool at the Crucial website

This adapter kit works just like described the Wireless G Access Points I powered with the two kits I purchased have been up and running for about two months There are only two caveats with this product

1 This device is NOT fully 802 3af compliant Power Over Ethernet It s very very close but even Cisco will admit on the phone that it s not 100 This doesn t have a huge effect but it s worth noting

2 These adapters work fantastically but be sure to call Linksys/Cisco and ensure that what you re trying to power is compatible with this kit Remember it s only got so much juice it can fire down a CAT5 or CAT6 cable so don t think you ll be running the newest Wireless N router with wired ports and multiple bands multiple antennas and all that jazz Keep the device simple and don t overtax the available power

So for me I m powering two WAP54G Wireless G access points and it s working beautifully Keep it around that kind of ballpark and you re good

I used this to allow me to place my wireless access point in a location that does not currently have a local power source Suffice it to say this product is a cheaper investment then hiring an electrician

As noted in the cons you may want to limit the use of this to 10/100 speed products This may not be the best solution for your router/gateways

It s very easy to install and works perfect I like the fact that it came with it s own power supply It also came with a cat 5e cable Now for the pros and cons

Pros

Easy to install
Perfect compliment to wireless access points
Very inexpensive option when compared to installing a new outlet

Cons

It s heavy and more bulky then I expected It seems unusual for just sending a DC current
I wish it didn t have the built in cat 5 whips I would have preferred that they supply the whips with an option to use something else It s mostly an issue on the switch side I have this dongle hanging from the switch and it wants to pull the switch off the table No issue if your switch is somehow mounted
It appears to be only compatible with Linksys products Not that big of an issue but if I wanted to use a different brand access point this goes out the window
Appears to only transmit at 10/100 So if you have a 802 11 N AP you may not be able to take advantage of the full speed

Although my cons list is larger then the pros I would still recommend this product for anyone that would like to move their WAP to a remote location

Great device works fine just have to manually configure 10/100/1000 ports to 10/100 to make it work I bought this unit and struggled for weeks to get it to work right turns out the injector or source device gets confused if you connect it to an auto sensing Gigabit device I tried both a Linksys RVS4000 10/100/1000 router and a Linksys 10/100/1000 autosensing/unmanaged switch If you connect it to a 10/100 device or if you manually set its port on a 10/100/1000 device/router to be restricted to 10/100 speed it works fine but it won t work with a 10/100/1000 unmanaged switch at all at least not the Linksys model switch I use It seems the 10/100/1000 switch is unable to detect that the WAPPOE12 can only operate at 10/100 so it assumes 1000 and fails Hopefully this is something Linksys could fix in future hardware revisions of either their switches/routers or the injectors to add graceful 10/100/1000 speed negotiation but currently it s an undocumented gotcha just make sure you can manually set the source port to 10/100 and it will work fine
