I purchased an HP Elite 7000 I7 W7 for a pretty fair price I couldn t have purchased the parts cheaper for a self build The only problem was the micro case was WAY too small to add anything but one hdd I managed to get 4 hdd s mounted but it was way too tight Not only that the HP case was SO flimsy and light that the computer was extremely loud especially with hdd operations
So I got to thinking about replacing the case When I saw the price for this case along with the stellar reviews it seemed like a no brainer I am not dissapointed at all My case was shipped from via Fedex Even with free shipping it showed up in 2 days
The case has ample supply for most people s needs I have 5 hdd s and an optical currently mounted with room for 1 more 3 1/2 an 3 more 5 1/4 drives
I moved the included fan to the front of the case And I moved the fan from the HP to the back of the case I added a nice Corsair 650w power supply also from Amazon Plus I added a controller card for eSATA SATA and PATA drives And of course a better video card So for a measly I have a normal looking quiet computer with all the room I need when I open the case I am SO glad I opted to do this

I have several computers in my house one is in a cool master cm 690 series which I love and another in a cheap no name case I got for 30 dollars I bought this case because it is cheap it s from cool master and it looks nice It wasn t quite what I expected Here are my pros and cons

did not have holes to mount the outside edge of my very standard asus board

plain metal color on the inside is fairly annoying to look at through the case black would have been nice
Because my list of cons is longer I couldn t rate this more than a 3 I would still buy it and after assembly most of these cons don t matter much but even my no name case does not have such sharp edges inside Aside from the window this is a very basic case

USB headers utilize a connector as opposed to a bunch of single pins that must be sorted out
Motherboard stand offs were included enough of them to actually MOUNT the board instead of skipping half of them
Hard disk drives are mounted transversely making it very easy to work with them No risk of smacking fragile MoBo parts while swapping a drive
The mounting setup for PCI AGP devices uses SCREWS one per device which means your hardware is actually mounted not merely staying in place with a cover Makes it easy to use low rear mounted fans for cooling your PCI devices
Other interesting things include
The rear panel is recessed such that when devices are plugged into the back of the PC the cables will not extend backward excessively
There s plenty of room to expand
The side fan is nowhere near the processor and could be a problem depending on how much heat your processor generates
I haven t noticed any sharp edges on the inside
This tower is a sleeper it looks relatively simple but packs quite a punch It s gonna look great sitting on her desk too especially with a couple of blue LED fans
