>> Best cheap sound card on the market
I bought this to upgrade the sound on a old gateway laptop I had some problems at 1st I tried to use the drivers on the CD That came with the usb sound card It would not work Keep getting error messages and it wouldn t completely install the drivers I downloaded the drivers from the Turtle Beach website They install in like 10 sec After enabling the s/pdif output I was in business Used a toslink cable to my receiver I ve never heard sound this good from my old laptop or old receiver The laptop is 5 years old and the receiver is 10 years old I get better surround sound from movies on my laptop Than I do on my 3 year old DVD player Which is also hook up s/pdif My receiver is so old It only has dolby surround sound But with this little sound card It sounds almost like true 5 1 DTS surround Best 29 buck upgrade I ve ever done to a pc
>> Awesome Little Widget
I bought this just as a gadget to see if could improve the sound coming out of my M2300 Dell laptop Installation was a cinch on XP Professional less than 10 minutes to getting streaming radio at 320 Kps using the included installation CD disk To say that the Audio Advantage USB card was an improvement over the headphone out port was an understatement I do use decent quality headphones Sennheiser HD 570 s for the comparison I had some CD s in FLAC format at compression level 6 avg 600 Kps to 800 Kps on the media player and while the sound quality wasn t as pure as a CD would be on a decent CD player the card was impressive in the quality that it delivers Especially given the cost Next test will be the optical connection to the home entertainment center and see how it does on that system Would easily recommend this card
>> great sound quality of product could be better though
Using this USB stick for audio output has dramatically improved the sound when played either through my home stereo system or headphones Also nice is that it can also output an optical signal which I am currently upgrading to It s very mobile too but I haven t been able to make use of that feature My only problem with it is that the actual USB stick is pretty low quality and has already fallen apart can be taped together again
