I agree this is a quiet fan But in my silent Geforce9300 system it hums part of that is vibration of the case and most of is the dim noise of the fan itself
I m using a controller to lower the rpms The hum became lower
The noise is not above day time ambient noise It is noticeable when used in quiet conditions
I have a Scythe 120mm on the same system which is quieter silent

This is a very very quiet fan I used two of them to replace the louder case fans that came stock with my Silverstone HTPC case The Cooler Master fans are not super powerful but they move enough air to keep my cpu cooler fan from kicking into its mid range speed which keeps the cpu cooler fan nearly silent as well
