Discussion
My Dell had only one available PCI slot from the factory Popped in the PCI card and fired up the Dell PC XP found the card after maybe 30 seconds then installed XP drivers for another 30 seconds or so Then I grabbed the User Manual and turned to Verifying Proper Installation for Windows 2000 XP Vista on page 5 The next step is to follow the Unversal Serial Bus Controllers list as instructed
Everything on my XP virgin PC was listed EXCEPT USB 2 0 Root Hub Device Called Belkin tech support Was put on their hold from h ll Called back Belkin tech support Reached guy in India who spoke perfect English over a choppy VoIP circuit After spending several minutes with him not understanding we decided to plug in my memory card reader with a memory card with one jpg for the acid test Voila The PC found my reader and displayed my jpg After hanging up I tried the ultimate Belkin USB card test by connecting my printer to the factory 1 1 USB port My printer test printed just fine Then I unpluged the printer cable and plugged it into the Belkin 2 0 port Bingo printer test page printed perfectly My last test was to do a scan on the Epson all in one My scan came through perfectly and speedily
Belkin claims that this card transfers 10 faster than the 1st USB 2 0 generation cards
