>> Wonderful card has serious problems
I purchased this card in tandem with a new AMD X4 955 BE CPU and MSI 890GXM motherboard Unfortunately the card has serious issues with stability at least under Windows 7 64 bit Professional
A quick search on Google will confirm that many people are having problems I called ATI/AMD and the tech support person told me they re aware that the card has problems fast lines over the screen system freezes and Windows 7 restarts the driver and in 3 D games spontaneous reboots and that they re trying to fix the issues with a new driver The tech support person recommended not using this card unless I needed multiple displays which I don t and instead recommended going to a Radeon 4850 which I am doing
As for the other reviews I can only think they have a different platform than mine One person online did state he had the same problems under Linux
>> very satisfied
I promised i would write a review whether I had a positive or negative experience Thankfully my experience was positive I bought this to replace an aging ATI x1900 512Mb video card In the new battlefield Bad Company I was getting no more than 25 35 fps on low res during game play I was just food for the predators moving very slowly around With the 5770 i am running 50 60 fps on med res almost doubling the performance Of course this is still a bit low but it is likely due to my aging dual core 6400 processor not the video card
I would recommend it to anyone that is looking for a midrange card installed nicely no difficulties Used the new catalyst drivers 10 3 from the amd website Worked flawlessly
>> Works Exactly as Advertised
I looked long and hard at various video cards before selecting the HD5770 I originally was looking at the HD5870 but unfortunately it is too long to fit in my case about 11 This card is 8 5 Both are double wide and you need an open space to the left of the PCI E slot to install it It comes with an adapter cable in case your power supply does not have 6 pin plug The card comes exactly as pictured I installed a new Corsair 650W PSU before installing the card The HD5770 installed easily and worked without a hitch Since I am running a on a WIN 7 64 bit system I did two things to insure no problems First I downloaded the latest ATI drivers for this card Second I uninstalled all my NVIDIA drivers before installing the card Once I powered up I just installed the drivers from my downloaded file and everything went perfectly I am extremely happy with it s performance
