Bought 8 of these drives for a RAID 5 build Tested all of them with WD s software They are okay One month after the build one of the 8 drives keeps dropping out of the RAID array Can t return it to Amazon Have to deal with WD for RMA
Other than the one bad drive experience I like these drives They are very quiet and cool

Amazon s frustration free packaging will lead to nothing but headaches here and drive failures It s shipped in something that looks like what a book would be shipped in The box is way too large for a 3 5 drive and the drive just slides around the inside of the box Lots of failures reported by consumers who got 2TB consumer WD drives from Amazon in the same packaging I can only hope that my 18 RE3 drives I ordered from here don t die in a few days
