>> It is BIG
I won t deny this full tower is bigger than I expected It has room for anything u want for your desktop and it keeps everything cool The side panel on which you set the motherboard slides out which I found to be an amazing feature There s definitely room for upgrade I think I splurged a little on buying this chassis but now I think that it is totally worth it
>> Almost Perfect
When choosing a new case I wanted something clean and with a brushed aluminum finish I was going to buy a Zalman LQ1000 or a GT1000 but the cost was a bit of an issue Not to mention both of those cases have been around for a while and some things in case designs have changed Mainly use of larger fans and better positioning of things like the PSU The ATCS 840 is well built and some thought has gone into it s design I say some as there are some issues as well The location of the filters makes it difficult at best to remove the one under the PSU Add a fan or say a water pump and you re not going to be able to remove it A bottom location like with the center fan location would have been better Although the case sits low and air flow might be decreased I would highly recommend placing this case on some Medium Density Fiberboard MDF if it s going to sit on a carpeted floor
My only real complaint is the adapter brackets that are supplied to convert the 230mm fans to 120mm I m using water cooling and I didn t want to use the small 120mm s So instead I bought some 2 6x32 screws and sandwiched the fan between the brackets and the top of the case I think it looks a lot nicer since the 230mm s are retained There is still room to mount the 120mm s under the radiator as well The brackets are a bit flimsy though I would have rather seen stamped aluminum adapters
Since the case is so large you might run into problems routing cables if you re wanting to hid them This is mostly a problem with Front Panels though I have a Sound Blaster X Fi Champion with the card in the lower PCI E slot it s a stretch to get to the top most 5 25 bay without just going straight across as most cables are too short I also have a water pump sitting above the empty fan bay on the bottom The RPM monitor also had to stretch across the case making for a ugly sight I will need to make a splice so I can route it the long way so it s hidden from view Even though there are no windows the case is so nice that it begs to have clean wire management
The fans come with standard 4 pin molex connectors but also has the mini 4 pin board connectors so you don t have to use the large connectors This is a nice touch since those 4 pin molex connectors are large and can be difficult to hide The case does come with some black zip ties and some stick on harness straps which is also nice
Also I really like the pop up front panel It s very hefty compared to many other cases on the market There is no plastic so it matches the case nicely The spring is strong and it will pop up with force The cables supplied are long enough to easily hide them You have to watch for how many cables you run the main pillar behind the bays as they can get rather thick which makes it difficult to put the side panel back on The side panels look really nice and give the illusion they are thick aluminum but they aren t Thin gauge aluminum with folded edges to help strength the panels Thicker panels would have been nice but once on you don t really notice them Not to mention the case is already heavy enough without adding more needless weight The feet are really nice as well They are more like stereo receiver feet then many cheap PC feet As noted by some others the blue LED s on top are bright They will light up your ceiling You can also see them through some small gaps between the top and the face Also if you have anything in the top bay it will leave a gap where you can also see the blue light It s not really a problem though unless you re sleeping with the computer on This brings up the fans They are pretty quiet even at full speed It s about as loud as a room fan so it s not too distracting I still might buy a fan controller but really it s not bad at all I wouldn t leave the computer running in a bed room though
So in short I m really impressed with the case Of course the price did drop right after I bought mine but that s OK it s worth it My gripes are only minor and aren t worth a full star
>> Massive and The Best
This case is by far one of the biggest full size ATX cases out there It is extremely roomy enough to fit larger graphics cards HD Radeon 5870s GTX 295s and I would think 5970s as well with ease Water cooling would definitely have no issue fitting inside this case with it providing a mount for 3 120mm fans on the top instead of the ones pre installed A lot of great airflow in the case even with the stock fans but I would recommend adding all the additional fans for better cooling especially if you have high end graphics cards that get extremely hot under full load From the outside this case is very stylish if you like the full ATX size Screw less drive bays work perfectly I have had multiple Cooler Master cases with this addition and they have improved from all the way back when they used them in the original Cosmos case
My only issue with this case is that the interior is not painted black like the outside Not many cases are like that and you can always do it yourself so it doesn t full take away from the over rating but would have been a nice option
