Slid this divice into a old sony desktop Updated the driver from the disk Installed a 1T Drive formated the disk and it worked fine Only problem was finding to left click on my computer to formate the disk

Very nice card only down size it is not 2 0 but I didn y need that capablity of the system the card is going into

I was looking for a product to add a 2nd hard drive to my Dell PC since the motherboard did not have any SATA ports available I plugged it in and connected the hard drive booted up and everything seemed to be OK I did not need to install any drivers it just worked I was able to access the files on the hard drive good because the last PC this hard drive was in totally crashed and died
I should have stopped there Instead I wanted to boot from the hard drive attached to this device I wasn t able to so I thought well I ll install the software from the mini disk included I put the mini disk in ran setup for VIA device and the install failed using Windows 7 64 bit But Windows 7 asked me if I wanted to try again with new settings a feature in windows so I did
PC had to reboot to finish install but upon reboot I got a black screen message that the disk had errors and needed to be checked The checking never completed it ran all night but didn t complete Tried a few more reboots connecting hard drive to motherboard bypassing this card by disconnecting the DVD drive to free up the SATA port Same issues
Ultimately I had to pull out this device and the hardrive And the hardrive is now toast
I gave two stars because it did work for a few hours before I installed the mini disk software
